About the artist

Chon, a professional graphic designer and photographer, has been developing his drawing and painting techniques by "looking over the shoulders" of both the old masters and the more contempory artists such as Daniel E. Greene, Wende Caporale, and Harley Brown. Chon is now applying his talents and style toward natural realism portrait painting. Chon finds that painting the features of the human face and form offers one of the most satisfying challenges in discovering the inner personality of an individual.

Born in Washington, Chon graduated from Arizona State University with a major in art history and graphic design, following up with post graduate studies in art history, painting and sculpture at the University of Southern California at Los Angeles. Chon also has taught design and art history at the College of the Desert in Palm Desert, California.
